B1/DEPLE exam experiences: a learner roundup
Similar to my post pooling resources for taking the A2/CIPLE exam, I thought I'd group together some experiences of people taking the B1/DEPLE exam, for anyone who's planning on making that jump.
Ignoring my post with my own exam experience, here's a roundup of some other people's experiences:
Firstly, we have the Practice Portuguese forum and their blog post about the exam:
(Generally speaking for all experiences learning EU-PUT, this is a great forum for likeminded learners.)
Next we have the Luso British blog and their B1 experience:
(Also highly recommend just for relatable insights into learning about Portuguese culture, literature, and their much more advanced exam experiences.)
Then another blog post, too:
This one also lists some great learning resources, which I also used ahead of the B1 exam.
Finally, there's also a growing amount of reddit posts about the B1 exam, too:
This post goes into a really good amount of detail into each exam section.
From reading all these experiences, I'd again say that, just like at the A2 level, everyone lacks confidence with the listening section of the exam. The more exposure to different listening exercises (podcasts, TV shows, the radio), the better. Personally, for at least the listening, I think that all you can do is immerse yourself in spoken Portuguese as much as possible, and hope for the best. Good luck to anyone who has the B1 exam coming up (and godspeed for the listening section)!
